RHI(Road Hazard Information), Essential during Korean Summer Monsoon

Korean summer monsoon season called “jangma” refers to the phenomenon of constant rain across the entire Korean Peninsular occurring due to the rain front formed from late June until late July. Once started, it keeps raining continuously as little as three to four days or as long as a week, and this repeatably happens, two or three times in a season.

Traffic conditions during this rainy season usually become quite urgent and it requires cautious driving. Torrential downpours can make it difficult for people to get a clear view on the road, and consequently, the incidence of traffic accidents such as potholes and slipperiness increases rapidly. Moreover, inundation sections (especially underground roads) or landslides can suddenly occur and we sometimes witness some casualties.

The above Road Hazard Information(RHI) on the vehicle navigation is truly essential for safe driving. A pre-warning guidance system for habitually flooded areas has been established in South Korea through considerable effort of the government, and our FX-Traffic RHI system is providing this important information as well.
