Connected car navigation systems are making great efforts to provide optimal directions that reflect the changes of road conditions such as road traffic, construction site or accident information, and many automakers have begun to implement a significant level of route guidance services. In order to implement such advanced routing, it is important to accurately reflect not only general traffic information, but also whether there is congestion at the highway entrance (aka on-ramp), which is necessary to figure out the traffic condition and the time required to destination.

We usually experience the situation that while the main straight lanes show smooth flow, the on-ramp lanes are heavily congested. But, if traffic conditions of on-ramps and straight lanes can be simultaneously checked separately, it will be possible for us to get optimal directions and accurate travel time as well.
