Seeing Changes in Traffic Flow - Patterned Traffic vs. Live Traffic

Like any other ordinary day at Formax, all of the staff went out to have lunch yesterday, and saw that the road nearby was under construction. Despite the fact that the roads in the area are narrow and one-way roads, there are always cars that are getting through. The road under construction was the one that connected to the big driveway where most of the cars driving between blocks come in from.

With no cars around, pedestrians like us could cross the road easily, but we thought that it would affect the nearby traffic. So we decided to compare the current traffic congestion with the patterned traffic at the same hour of the day on normal Thursdays via our Fx-Traffic website.

Patterned traffic showed mild traffic congestion on Thursdays at 1:30 pm (the road section by the metro exit 4 displayed in yellow), but live traffic showed the same road in red, confirming that the traffic was heavy. It also showed the patterned speed was 27km per hour whereas the speed at the same hour yesterday was 13km per hour. This observation confirmed that the road construction between the blocks had contributed to traffic jams at the big road. As such, patterned traffic and real time traffic help us see when a change is made in normal traffic flow objectively.
